This cable is perfect to connect a DVI compatible device with to a TV or monitor using a DFP connection. DFP was on track to be the new standard in digital connections until it was scrapped for the DVI interface.

DFP was the initial connector type specified by the Digital Flat Panel working group. Like DVI-D, this connector supports digital only. This connector type is still used on some displays, however it is becoming obsolete.
